Is Cantiague Park Pool Open? [Fact Checked!]

Sharing is Caring

You can now stroll around the park and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Unfortunately, many of the structures at Cantiague are closed due to COVID-19 safety guidelines. The pool itself has been closed since mid-March, and the tennis courts are now closed to the general public. The same guidelines apply to the golf course which remains open. Since this article is published, more and more businesses have begun to open up once again. Hopefully, these guidelines will be lifted soon so that everyone can enjoy the outdoors once more.

When Will The Pool Be Open?

If you’re looking to enjoy the outdoors this year, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The pool at Cantiague will not be open for swimming this year. The city has reopened the facility as a fitness center and is slowly easing restrictions on outdoor activities. Swimming pools generally have safety measures in place to prevent infections. However, due to the pandemic, these measures have to come first.

Is It Worth Visiting?

While it’s not advisable to go swimming at this point, it is still possible to visit the park. A walk around the perimeter of the pool will give you a good impression of the space. The grounds are quite picturesque, and especially during the day when the sun is beaming down, you can really appreciate the beauty of nature. There is also an arcade nearby if you want to bring a mini-basketball court or ping pong with you. The park is close to downtown, so plenty of restaurants and bars are within walking distance. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could even attempt to hike one of the nearby trails which are mostly forested. The view from the top is worth the effort!

What Will The Daily Life Be Like?

The daily life at Cantiague will be very different from what you’re used to. The tennis courts and pool will be closed to the public due to COVID-19 safety restrictions. There will be a special entrance for members only, and most of the shops and restaurants in the village center will be closed down as well. The daily life here will be led by the government, and they’ll be taking care of all the details. Most of the employees will be staying at home, and only a few will venture out to maintain the parks and facilities. It will be difficult to get a real feel for daily life in the village as most of the shops and restaurants will be locked down due to precautions taken against COVID-19. If you decide to visit, you should take into consideration that the life will be totally different.

Hopefully, by the time you read this, the guidelines in place will have been relaxed, and you’ll be able to swim at Cantiague Park once more! If you’re looking for a change of pace, you could always try one of the other parks in the area. The trails there are mostly open, and you could possibly spot some wildlife if you’re lucky.
