When the hot season is here it’s essential to remember that, apart from cooking your daily meal, drinking a glass of wine, and enjoying a good book, you need to also keep an eye on your health. One of the first things you should do is to check whether or not your local area is suffering from drought. Drought is a condition where there is not enough water to support the needs of the local population. In Australia, South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria are currently suffering from a severe drought, and if you visit these areas you will notice that there is very little green around. If you live in a place where the climate is damp and cool, like Scotland or Ireland, you will be able to swim in fresh water all summer long. But if you live somewhere hotter, like Australia, you will need to look for ways to fill your pool with as much water as possible. You also need to bear in mind that if you live in a suburban area the water that comes from your garden tap may also be contaminated with chemicals such as chlorine or fluoride which you may not want to put into your body. In these cases you will need to buy pool water, and this is where things get a little complicated. In this article we will discuss the various methods you can use to fill your swimming pool with fresh, clean water, and where you can buy it from.
Pump It Yourself
The first and probably the most convenient way to get fresh pool water is to simply buy a pump and use it yourself. The most common type of pump is the submersible electric pump which you connect to a water source (your garden hose for example) and then to a faucet located near your pool. The main advantages of using a pump are that it will continuously provide you with fresh water, and you avoid having to think about where to buy water or how much to buy. There are also several battery-operated submersible electric pumps you can buy, and these are rechargeable. So instead of buying a new one every few months, you can simply purchase a rechargeable one and use it whenever you want without worrying about the battery running out. This type of pump is great for places with hard water because it can withstand the extra minerals. The disadvantage is that you need to be physically present at the pool to operate it. If you are going to be somewhere else during the day, you will have to let the water settle for a little while before using it.
If you are on your own and don’t have the time to be driving around looking for a faucet or to carry a heavy bucket of water, then buying a submersible electric pump is the best solution. You simply connect it to a water source and then to the pool, and it will start producing clean water for you without any problems. Another advantage of this type of pump is that you can also use it to fill up other containers like buckets or jugs which you might need for drinking or cooking. This one is a bit more expensive than the regular electric pump, but it’s also more efficient and durable, and it will last longer. The disadvantage is that if you are going to be traveling you may need to bring the equipment with you, and it’s a bit more difficult to use while on the road (unless you want to bring an in-home stand which you might find a little difficult to maneuver when you’re camping).
Install A Tank
An alternative to using a submersible pump is to install a water tank. These are simply big containers (usually made out of plastic) that store water when it’s available and then release it slowly through a fine nozzle or spigot when you turn it on. You can choose between a large or small tank depending on how much water you need, and they are fairly easy to use. The advantage of having a tank is that you can use it almost anywhere (as long as there’s a water source nearby) and it will just automatically start producing clean water for you whenever you turn it on. This makes it ideal for camping and outdoor activities because you can carry it with you and use it where and when you want. The disadvantage is that they are fairly expensive to purchase and install, and you will need to think about what size you need before you buy (larger tanks hold more water). Finally, make sure to clean and change the tank’s filter regularly to keep the water clean and free from germs.
Use A Water Dispenser
Another solution is to use a water dispenser. These are either attached to a tap or set next to it (usually in a garden or near a kitchen area). You simply connect the hose from the dispenser to the pool, and when you turn it on water will start flowing into your pool. The advantage of having a water dispenser is that you don’t have to do any installation work and they are fairly easy to use. The disadvantage is that you need to buy and maintain the equipment which may be costly in the long run. Finally, make sure to clean and replace the dispenser’s parts once per month to keep the water clean and free from germs.
Get A Filter
If you live in a place with hard water and you are not able to drink the water from your pool due to its bad quality, then you can also get a filter. Filters remove minerals and other elements from the water which may be bad for your health. The most common filters are either sand or gravel filters which you can find in most hardware stores. These filters are fairly inexpensive and easy to install and use. The disadvantage is that you need to buy and replace them regularly (usually about every three months). Finally, make sure to clean and change the filter when it gets clogged with dirt or debris.
Drink Fresh Bottled Water
If none of the above solutions seem like a fit, then you can also drink fresh bottled water. This is exactly what the name suggests – freshly extracted water stored in a bottle which you can drink anywhere anytime. The main advantage is that you can get any size you need and it will always be available when you want it. You can find these waters in most major supermarkets or convenience stores, and they are also fairly inexpensive. The disadvantage is that you will have to buy them in large quantities to achieve your daily goal, and storing them in the fridge requires a lot of room which you may not have space for.
Use A Water Softener
A water softener is another solution which can be used to improve the quality of water by removing the minerals and other elements which may be present in it. These waters are meant for industrial or commercial use and are usually delivered in large quantities so that you can use them in your home or office. The advantage of having a water softener is that you don’t need to buy individual bottles to drink purified water, you can simply connect the hose from the tank to your faucet and start drinking. The disadvantage is that they are fairly expensive and require a bit of an installation which you may not have the time to do yourself (unless you’re a pro). Finally, make sure to change the water softener’s filter once per month to keep the water clean.
At the end of the day, if you are looking for an easy way to fill your pool with clean water, there are several different solutions you can choose from. Whether you decide to use a submersible pump or an electric tank, or you build your own filter using a jug and some cloth or you buy one pre-made, you will need to perform some sort of installation work. This is where you need to think about what is available in your area and whether or not it’s worth the effort. If you decide that it is, then great! Otherwise, you can also choose to fill it with drinkable water from a bottle which you keep in the fridge. These are all great options which allow you to have clean, refreshing swimming pools whenever you want. Just remember to keep your eyes open for signs of drought in your area so you can be prepared to fill up whenever the need arises.
